Driving through Franconia Notch, I felt a stirring, drawing me to Hale. Why the trail that’s not on the map? Because it’s there.
Spring hiking is mud season, and you need a certain resilience. But what about the trail that brings us back? Where’s the magic in the mud?
A year later and I find Mt Carrigain is no less strenuous. But on a clear day, the view stretches for miles, and takes in nearly all of the four thousand footers.
