Hiking Gap Mountain, you get a lot of the fun with less of the hassle. A short drive, easy grades, and an amazing view. What’s not to like?
The fun part of posting any kind of media about my hikes, is that I have a fantastic vehicle to go back and recall the day.
Mt Watatic is the southern terminus of the Wapack trail. Great views abound, on a family friendly hike.
Sometimes hiking in the rain is more fun than you’d ever expect. If it cools down an oppressively hot day, so much the better!

Today was far from everything, but close to home. A welcome hike without the long drive. Awesome.

The sublime is found in the quietude. You, the trail, the mountain, fresh air. Hiking North Pack Monadnock had all that in spades. Perfect.
So the Whites had severe weather this past week: to wit, the winds were howling. I saw the Higher Summits Forecast calling for winds at 50 MPH, heading to 70, with gusts to 105. Screw that noise.
